Tampa Bay Arts & Education Network (TBAE) has partnered with Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners and is seeking high school AND college students for our unpaid Spring, Summer, and Fall internship program. The Network is a non-profit organization that has served Tampa Bay for over 30 years on cable channels Spectrum 635/636 and Frontier FiOS 32/34, and on watch.tbae.net
We are looking for interns with great digital editing skills, people skills with an emphasis on mature, professional behavior, the ability to work independently, and a willingness to learn. In return, students will receive real-world, on the job experience in the field of mass communications at a high tech television station serving over a million people in Tampa Bay. In addition, students will receive a reference letter from the department supervisor, and/or video clips for your demo reel.
Participants in TBAE's Communications Internship will receive unique technical instruction, critical evaluation and support for their career goals by assisting TBAE's staff in all aspects of planning, producing, and distributing programming in support of TBAE's mission.
INTERNSHIP PROGRAM POSITIONS
Pre-Production, Distribution, and Marketing: Interns will help outline program initiatives, develop scripts, evaluate the logistical and technical production requirements and execute pre-production duties necessary to accomplish the program goals.
Interns will gain familiarization with the industry standards, protocols, expectations, and workflows required to effectively distribute finished programs for cable broadcast and internet distribution and will be introduced to effective methodologies for archival storage of the finished programs.
Finally, interns will help develop, execute and evaluate promotional endeavors in support of programmatic initiatives via multiple social media sites, TBAE's own online broadcasting platform, and traditional print media.
Video Production/Editor: Interns will gain experience by working both in-house in TBAE's cutting edge (green screen) virtual production studio and in the field using TBAE's revolutionary live multi-camera event production and broadcasting platform. Interns will be trained using editing software such as Adobe Photoshop and Final Cut X. Editors will learn how to edit promo's, public service announcements (PSA's) and program episodes.
SPRING 2019 (JANUARY - MAY) 15 WEEKS

Internship End: August 9th

FALL 2019 (AUGUST - NOVEMBER) 15 WEEKS
Application Period: July 1st through July 31st (Closes at 4 PM)
Interviews Begin: August 1st and 2nd
Orientation: August 7th
Internship Starts: August 12th
Internship End: November 22nd
Time Sheets and Exit Interviews Completed: November 22nd
- Applications will not be accepted after the application deadline.
- All internships are unpaid and any lodging or transportation needs are the responsibility of the applicant.
- A minimum commitment of 4 hours a week for High School students and 6 hours a week for College students is required. However, TBAE will be flexible to accommodate students school schedule.
- A black, polo shirt will be required during productions.
