TBAE Network, Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, and the Tampa Bay History Center bring you back in time to the settlement of Tampa's most historical churches.

Just like today, Tampa’s earliest settlers had ongoing spiritual needs. They also had important religious events to celebrate, like weddings, funerals, and baptisms. Where did they go for spiritual support?

Families and friends gathered in homes and on the banks of the Hillsborough River before constructing churches and synagogues. Hear from local religious leaders and scholars about how Tampa’s earliest houses of worship were formed. Instructors include Father Len Plazewski, Carl Zielonka, USF Professor James Cavendish, Rev. Justin LaRossa, and Fred Hearns of Fred Hearns Tours.

This series will premiere on TBAE's cable channels Spectrum 635 and Frontier FiOS on December 7th at 10 PM.
