TBAE FILM SHOWCASE

TBAE Network has genre's created for everyday of the week and we are looking for original cultural, artist, educational, musical, historical, and environmental films or videos to showcase in the Tampa Bay area. All fiction and non-fiction are welcomed for consideration.

TBAE Film Showcase will be accepting Films, which include animations, lectures, shorts, features, documentaries, and children's programming; And  Videos, which include Public Service Announcement's (PSA), Explainer/Tutorial Videos, Music Videos, and Culture Videos. All submissions must be rated G, PG, or PG-13 and once accepted, films or videos will have to be uploaded to a FTP Client.

If you are seeking an audience or exposure of your film or videos, TBAE Network has an audience of 1.3 million viewers. We are a 24 hour, 7 days a week, commercial free television station that is looking for excellence in programming.

ANIMATIONS:  ANIMATION is the process of displaying still images in a rapid sequence to create the illusion of movement. These images can be hand drawn, computer generated, or pictures of 3D objects. Though most people associate animation with cartoons, it also has applications in industrial and scientific research. TBAE Network does not require the ANIMATION Film to be a specific length in time; However it must be 16:9, H264 mpeg4, 1280 X 720, and will need to be uploaded to a FTP client.

LECTURES:  A LECTURE is a talk or speech given on a particular subject. Lectures usually come in a series and if taped as so it would be considered ONE entry for lecture. TBAE has several genres to choose from such as environment, history, or art but a lecture submitted is not limited to just these examples. A lecture should be 15, 30, or 60 minutes. Please DO NOT submit a lecture that is 7 mins. However it must be 16:9, H264 mpeg4, 1280 X 720, and will need to be uploaded to a FTP client.

SHORTS:  A SHORT film is any film not long enough to be considered a feature film. For the sole purpose of TBAE Annual Video Submission, a SHORT film will be anything under 30 minutes, including all credits and with a minimum of 5 minutes. And it must be 16:9, H264 mpeg4, 1280 X 720, and will need to be uploaded to a FTP client.

FEATURES:  A FEATURE film is a film with a running time long enough to be considered the principal or sole film to fill a program. TBAE Network will accept any genre of film for the purpose of TBAE Annual Video Submission. However it must be 16:9, H264 mpeg4, 1280 X 720, and will need to be uploaded to a FTP client.

DOCUMENTARY:  A DOCUMENTARY film is a nonfictional motion picture intended to document some aspect of reality, primarily for the purposes of instruction or maintaining a historical record. TBAE Network does not require the DOCUMENTARY Film to be a specific length in time; However it must be 16:9, H264 mpeg4, 1280 X 720, and will need to be uploaded to a FTP client.

CHILDREN PROGRAMS:  CHILDREN'S PROGRAMS are television programs designed for, and marketed to children, normally scheduled for broadcast during the morning and afternoon when children are awake. They can sometimes run in the early evening, allowing children to watch them after Kindergarten or school. The purpose of the shows is mainly to entertain and sometimes to educate. All submissions must be rated G, PG, or PG-13. TBAE Network does not require the CHILDREN'S PROGRAMS to be a specific length in time; However it must be 16:9, H264 mpeg4, 1280 X 720, and will need to be uploaded to a FTP client.

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT:  A PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT (PSA) or public service ad, are messages for the public interest with the objective of raising awareness, changing public attitudes and behavior towards a social issue. These are usually under 60 seconds but TBAE Network does not require the PSA to be a specific length in time; DO NOT submit a commercial, a call to action video or a political nature video. They will be immediately disqualified. If you are a NON-PROFIT organization that has produced a PSA and it meets the requirements, you can submit it in this category. However it must be 16:9, H264 mpeg4, 1280 X 720, and will need to be uploaded to a FTP client.

EXPLAINER/TUTORIAL VIDEO:  EXPLAINER or TUTORIAL VIDEO allow viewers to see, in action, what it is they're trying to accomplish to help them follow along at home. They can also be used to simplify hard concepts in a customer's mind. These are your "how to"- and "hack"-themed queries in the search results. For the sole purpose of TBAE Annual Video Submission please only submit explainer or tutorial videos that are appropriate. TBAE Network is an educational access television station and the video content should reflect these standards. For example: A tutorial video on how to paint, or an explainer video on Algebra math. TBAE Network does not require the EXPLAINER/TUTORIAL VIDEO to be a specific length in time; However it must be 16:9, H264 mpeg4, 1280 X 720, and will need to be uploaded to a FTP client.

MUSIC VIDEO:  A MUSIC VIDEO is a rendition of a recorded song, often showing the musicians performing or showing images that illustrate the lyrics or the mood of the song. Videos that are submitted should be appropriate in content to be televised. MUSIC VIDEO's submitted can be of any genre of music. TBAE Network does not require the MUSIC VIDEO's to be a specific length in time; However it must be 16:9, H264 mpeg4, 1280 X 720, and will need to be uploaded to a FTP client. All submissions must be rated G, PG, or PG-13.

The music video MUST have a lower third of the song and the band name. We want our viewers to be able to search for you and possibly buy your music. Make it easy for them. At the end of the music video, you may add credits, website information, and social media links. CULTURE VIDEO:  A CULTURE VIDEO should combine elements of life to create a unique perspective of living for different people. Culture exists anywhere humans exist, and no two cultures are exactly the same. The CULTURE VIDEO submitted should capture symbols, language, values, or types of norms. TBAE Network does not require the CULTURE VIDEO to be a specific length in time; However it must be 16:9, H264 mpeg4, 1280 X 720, and will need to be uploaded to a FTP client.

 

***PLEASE BE ADVISED: TBAE is a television station and all submissions are being considered for broadcasting. TBAE Film Showcase is a competition not an actual festival. Applicants are competing for their work to be considered for broadcast.*** 

 

PRIZES AND AWARDS:

Laurel of Excellence Award

Applicants films/videos that are submitted to TBAE Annual Video Submission and qualify for broadcast, will receive a Laurel of Excellence Award. Once the film/video is broadcasted it will be hosted in TBAE Network's archive and will receive unlimited broadcasting on TBAE's cable channels in Hillsborough County, Florida.

Submissions will not be returned. Please do not send submissions in fiber filled envelopes.  Please be sure to write the WAB tracking number and Film Title on the disc in case it becomes separated from its box. Good luck and we look forward to seeing your films!

SCREENINGS

If selected, filmmakers authorize Tampa Bay Arts & Education Network (TBAE) to broadcast the film or video submission on TBAE's cable channels as well as authorize TBAE to host it on demand. Also, your film/video may be part of any TBAE social media content. Once your film has been selected, it cannot be pulled. If the film or video is under a distribution agreement is may be still accepted if given permission by filmmaker. TBAE Network is a non-profit, non-exclusive television station that does not sell any goods or services.

MARKETING AND PUBLICITY

TBAE's publicity and marketing teams may craft a specific promotional campaign for each film. To assist in this campaign, participating filmmakers will be responsible for providing the following materials by the April deadlines, if selected to participate.

*A .MOV is accepted BUT it must contain a .MPEG 4 file.

* .MPEG files must be in .MPEG 4 NOT .MPEG 2

*It must be 16:9, H264 mpeg4, 1280 X 720

* We accept secure online screeners.

SENDING A HARD COPY (OPTIONAL):

*A digital file can be sent on a DVD data disk or Flash Drive (which will not be returned) if applicant does not a FTP Client.

* DVDs and Blu-Rays' are accepted for preview screening.

* DVDs and Blu-Rays' sent in must be labeled clearly with the title, running time and contact information (including name, address and phone number).

* DVDs and other submitted materials will not be returned.

ADDITIONALLY:

* More than one entry may be submitted. Each entry must be accompanied by an official entry form and entry fee.

* The entry fee is non-refundable. 

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Tampa Bay Arts & Education Network (TBAE) is hereby granted the right to utilize an excerpt from any film/video submitted and accepted for exhibition on TBAE Network for promotional purposes. The individual or corporation submitting the film/video hereby warrants that it is authorized to commit the film/video for television, and understands and accepts these requirements and regulations. The undersigned shall indemnify and hold harmless Tampa Bay Arts & Education Network (TBAE) from and against any and all claims, liabilities, losses, damages, and expenses (including but not limited to attorney's fees, and costs of the court) which may be incurred by reason of any claim involving copyright, trademark, credits, publicity, screening, and loss of or damage to the film or videos submitted.

CATEGORIES: All submissions must be rated G, PG, or PG-13.
